TGI Client Makes National and International News
07.3.2011 – TGI client Gray, Ritter & Graham led the negotiations for a recent $750 million settlement with Germany based Bayer on behalf of thousands of rice farmers across the United States. TGI worked with Don Downing of the St. Louis law firm Gray, Ritter & Graham, to announce the settlement on July 1 to local, regional, national, international and key trade media. The settlement terms and interviews with Downing were featured in print and websites all across the country, as well as websites in other countries that monitor U.S. agriculture and genetically modified food issues. The lawsuits stemmed from a 2006 incident in which a strain of Bayer’s genetically modified rice seed made its way into the U.S. rice supply, which led to a dramatic decrease in the value of the crops as the European Union stopped purchasing the contaminated rice. Here a few examples of the news coverage generated by the settlement announcement. Click here , here and here.
